Windwalker Group is looking for an experienced Event Security Manager to lead event security operations and staff across our event portfolio. In this role, you will oversee event security officers from staffing through deployment, direct training and readiness, and serve as the on-the-ground leader ensuring every event runs safely, professionally, and in line with client expectations.
Schedule: Full-time; evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event calendar
Pay: Salaried, equivalent to $30 an hour
Responsibilities:
Oversee event security operations and staff for all assigned events, from planning through post-event wrap-up.
Own staffing and scheduling for event security personnel, ensuring proper coverage for every shift and event.
Recruit, hire, and train event security officers and supervisors; conduct performance reviews and handle disciplinary matters as needed.
Supervise and direct security staff on-site, monitoring conduct and performance throughout each event.
Conduct pre-event briefings covering post assignments, emergency procedures, and client expectations.
Develop and lead training sessions to keep staff current on safety, screening, and emergency-response procedures.
Manage the uniform and equipment room, including issuance, inventory, and readiness of gear for deployment.
Oversee access control, credentialing, and restricted-area enforcement at events.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, venue management, and outside agencies (police, EMS, fire) during events.
Ensure accurate incident reports, logs, and shift summaries are completed for every event.
Follow and enforce standard operating procedures and protocols across the event security team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in event management, security, or related field (preferred).
Experience in event security, crowd management, or physical security operations is required.
Prior supervisory or leadership experience managing a security team is required.
CPR/AED/First Aid certified preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Strong organizational and decision-making skills in fast-paced event environments.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as events require.
Familiarity with security equipment (two-way radios, surveillance systems, magnetometers, metal detectors).
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices for event security.
Clean criminal record and background check.
