Job Summary:

Montauk Yacht Club is seeking an experienced and service-driven Event Services Supervisor to oversee the execution of weddings, meetings, social gatherings, and special events. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring events are delivered seamlessly while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and guest service. The Event Services Supervisor will support the Event Services team by coordinating event setups, supervising service staff, and serving as an operational leader during functions.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise Event Services colleagues during meetings, weddings, banquets, and special events.
  • Ensure all event spaces are set according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), floor plans, and Montauk Yacht Club standards.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to review event details, service expectations, and operational updates.
  • Monitor event execution to ensure exceptional guest service and timely food and beverage delivery.
  • Act as the on-site operational lead for assigned events and assist in resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate with Culinary, Stewarding, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure successful event execution.
  • Inspect event setups, including tables, chairs, linens, décor, audiovisual equipment, and signage.
  • Assist with colleague scheduling, break assignments, and labor management.
  • Train, coach, and develop Event Services colleagues to ensure adherence to service standards.
  • Ensure all safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelines are followed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet and event spaces before, during, and after functions.
  • Complete event reports, shift notes, and incident documentation as required.
  • Support department leadership with special projects and operational initiatives as assigned.

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Minimum of two (2) years of hospitality, banquet, or event operations experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and event floor plans.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hospitality management systems preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time during events.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (e.g., trays, tables, chairs, etc.).
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and perform tasks that require physical movement, such as setting up tables and moving equipment.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as many events occur during these times.
