Job Description:
TITLE: Event Staff DEPARTMENT: Conference & Event Services SUPERVISOR: Caitlin Kincaid SCHEDULE: Varies as needed; maximum of 18.5 hours during the academic year.
The position with Conference & Event Services is one of importance to Worcester State University's active event program. This position is highly visible and interfaces with all elements of the campus community including the President's Office, Admissions Department, Student Organizations, and a variety of campus guests.
The Event Staff are a direct reflection of the Conference and Event Services Office and the University. Every student is expected to present a positive image to all guests and clients. This is accomplished through a neat appearance, a pleasant and friendly disposition, attention to detail, and a commitment of service to ensure success.
General Statement of Duties: Assist the Conference & Event Services Office as needed with various tasks such as event setups, breakdowns, and staffing.
Responsibilities:
Move, arrange, and breakdown tables, chairs, podiums, stages, and/or audiovisual equipment for University events both on and off campus.
Staff events and provide last minute logistical or production needs.
Provide superb customer services to our internal and external clients by representing the University while assisting students, faculty, and off-campus guests before, during, and after events.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Function independently and as a part of a team.
Must be able to move furniture and lift objects of up to 30lbs
Perform general office tasks as assigned
Must be available for office mandated work dates (to be given ahead of time), such as University Events up to and including Commencement
Must be available for nights, weekends and selected holidays
Attendance at August Training is required

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
Attention to detail and strong customer service skills.
Exercise Problem Solving Skills
Refined Time Management Skills
Must be enrolled full-time (undergrad-12 hours) in the current session to be eligible for employment. (For summer sessions, if not enrolled in a summer session; must be registered for the upcoming fall semester) and hold a G.P.A of 2.0 or higher
Student Event Staff must be in good judicial standing as determined by the University
