As an Event Staff & Field Operator, you'll play a key role in ensuring the success of a fast-paced retriever competition. You'll work alongside other dedicated team members and support the event's smooth operation through hands-on assistance with bird handling, setup, and safety protocols. Your teamwork and reliability will help create a memorable experience for participants, handlers, and spectators alike.
What You'll Do
As an Event Staff & Field Operator, you will be responsible for
- Safely operating boom guns to set up, load, and fire bird launchers
- Assisting with bird handling, setup, and retrieving ground operations
- Supporting event directors, volunteers, and board members to keep the event running smoothly, safely, and on schedule
- Providing hands-on support wherever needed to ensure everything runs efficiently and the participants have a positive experience
- Maintaining safety standards and following all protocol instructions diligently

- Punctuality and dependability, with a strict adherence to event schedules
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and move comfortably outdoors for extended periods, and lift up to 40 lbs
- Strong listening skills to follow safety guidelines and directions quickly and accurately
- A helpful, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to lend a hand wherever needed
