    Description

    Pay Grade/Pay Range: $14.00/hour

    Department/Organization: 204101 - Dean's Office-Arts and Sciences Adm

    Normal Work Schedule: Flexible; Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, up to 20 hours per week

    Note to Applicants: Ability to work Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 semesters is preferred.

    Job Summary: The Event Student Assistant, assists the Event team within the Barefield College of Arts & Sciences, Dean’s Office. Executes and assists with approximately 75 events per year, including fundraisers, donor development receptions, faculty/staff meetings and receptions, and student events.

    Required Minimum Qualifications: Current University of Alabama undergraduate student.

    Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

    Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 semesters

    Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
