    Position Description\n \nThe Clemson University School of Architecture, Art, and Construction Science seeks highly qualified candidates to fill course instruction needs in the School of Architecture at the Clemson Design Center, Charleston, South Carolina.\n \nPlease note: This advertisement is not for a specific role but for various temporary faculty opportunities within Clemson University's School of Architecture as they become available.\n \nThis part-time and/or temporary full-time opportunity to teach one or more courses is available as needed. Courses may be offered in spring, summer, and/or fall terms and one or more modalities and locations. The start date varies according to departmental teaching needs. The areas of content expertise for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level required but not limited to include: \n\n Design Studios \n Technical and theoretical Seminars \n Representation and Visualization \n Structures and Building Systems \n Professional Practice \n Topical Electives \n Historic Preservation\n \nAbout the School of Architecture \n \nThe School of Architecture's mission is to be a premier producer of transformational design and preservation leadership, shaping the environment of the 21st century for a better future. We are an interconnected, geographically distributed community of teachers and learners dedicated to: \n\n Educating future architects, landscape architects, preservationists, and urban designers through rigorous and expansive design education, with local and global understandings of firmness, commodity, and delight. \n Generating knowledge to address the great challenges of the time, like health care, resilience, and increasing digital society, through innovative, interdisciplinary research, practice, and scholarship. \n Advocating for the improvement and preservation of built, natural, and social environments through design activism, public service, and public education. \n \nAbout the College of Architecture, Art and Construction (CAAC) \n \nThe newly formed College of Architecture, Art and Construction's (CAAC) portfolio consists of the School of Architecture, the Department of Art, and the Nieri Department of Construction, Development, and Planning. With its five undergraduate majors and ten graduate programs as well as nine centers and institutes the college aims to prepare over 900 undergraduates and 300 graduate students to transform, enhance and sustain the built environment and to excel in their fields by combining practical knowledge with hands-on experiential learning. Supported by the outdoor Experiential Learning Yard and Fluid Campus in Genoa, Italy, Barcelona, Spain, and Charleston, South Carolina, students learn how to translate their education into lifelong success.\n \nAbout Clemson University \n \nClemson University, one of the most productive public research universities in the nation, enrolls 27,341 students across the State of South Carolina and has an endowment of over $1 billion. Candidates hired for part-time positions will teach an undergraduate or graduate design studio or a 3-credit course only each semester.
