Eviction Diversion Outreach Worker

The Eviction Diversion Outreach Worker supports the Eviction Diversion Program by conducting proactive outreach to tenants scheduled for eviction hearings and helps connect eligible households to mediation, legal representation, financial assistance, and housing counseling services. This position focuses on engaging clients prior to a hearing through phone, mailings, and in-person/home-based contact, assisting with intake and documentation, and coordinating timely referrals and follow-up.

Key Qualifications

• Associate's degree in human services, social work, public administration, criminal justice, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience in housing services, eviction prevention, case management, outreach, or a related social services field preferred.
• Familiarity with landlord/tenant rights, eviction procedures, and/or fair housing concepts helpful.
• Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with tenants, landlords, court staff, and partner agencies.
• Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple outreach follow-ups and deadlines.
• Comfortable working in community settings and providing home-based outreach in accordance with agency policies and safety practices.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evening hours.
• Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google tools and ability to learn and use case management data systems.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally as needed.
• Experience working with families and/or in community outreach, social services, education, or a related setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build trust with clients from diverse backgrounds required.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain a flexible schedule, including some evening hours required.
• Spanish fluency preferred.
• Experience working with local government agencies or the court system preferred; familiarity with local rental assistance programs, community resources, and referral networks preferred.
• Experience working in a team-based, client-centered program environment preferred.
