QUALIFICATIONS

Two years of related work experience
Minimum of two years of experience, including one to two years of supervisory experience in support service-related fields with a strong customer service focus and/or one to two years of Environmental Services experience

 

The Environmental Services (EVS) Operations Manager is responsible for assisting in directing and
overseeing the operational needs of the department. You will coordinate the tasks of the frontline team
members and act as a liaison for the department providing the highest possible level of service to our
patients, visitors, and the community we serve. This position requires monitoring of ongoing matters related
to system/hospital initiatives in order to assure highest patient and customer satisfaction levels, strong
team member relations, and achievements of goals set by the department. Must ensure that all personnel
under their operational influence comply with all hospital, government, and system policies and procedures

 

Manages the day-to-day operations including environmental services programs which are designed
to promote overall cleanliness, build strong patient and customer relations, performance
improvement mindset, and open communication on improving work standards and procedures for all
team member.
• Conducts regular inspections and make recommendations to the facility.
• Assists in the development of staffing assignments which will ensure efficient, cost-effective
completion of assigned tasks.
• Prepares Operation and Quality assessment reports addressing activities, projects, and quality
management assignments. Maintains accurate reports and records.
• Plans work and staffing schedules and areas of work to ensure adequate services are rendered.
• Communicates and builds relationships with staff, administration, and other departments.
• Coordinates with outside services and vendors (i.e. Pest Control, Window Cleaning, Medical & Solid
Waste, special floor projects, and repair services).

 

Establishes and reviews standards and work procedures for all Environmental Service Team
Members in accordance with established policies, procedures, and practices in the facility.
• Plans work schedules, hours, areas of work, and job duties the ensure adequate services are
rendered to all areas.
• Performs regular facility inspections and evaluations; recommends action items; assists with
relocations within the facility.
• Regularly inspects and evaluates physical condition of facility; recommends painting, repair, and
furnishing.
• Conducts regular inventory of EVS Supplies and orders same, keeping cost in line with approved
process.
• Defines the scope of services provided by the department or service area and ensures care and
services are rendered according to the written goals and scope of service.
• Partners with infection prevention to integrate infection prevention standards with environmental

-They are looking for strong candidates with the leadership skills and experience needed to support our Environmental Services team, and we have not yet found the right fit.

-They are seeking an experienced Environmental Services (EVS) Manager with a strong background in either a hospital or hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will have proven success managing teams in a large, fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence.  Some of the key responsibilities will include day-to-day management, interviewing, hiring, coaching and guidance to team members, and disciplinary actions.

 

-Reports to: Assistant Director or Director,EVS & Linen

-Compensation Range: $32.08 - $48.15/hour (Midpoint: $40.12/hour)
