POSITION TITLE: Exceptional Children's Adapted Curriculum Teacher

SITE: Currituck County High School

REPORTS TO: Principal & EC Director

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Month

SALARY: Per NC State Salary Schedule plus local supplement

STARTING DATE: August 10, 2026

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

• Must hold or be eligible to hold appropriate NC Licensure from the NC Department of Public Instruction
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to high achievement for all students
• Positive role model both professionally and personally

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Teacher should be able to assist students in:

• Adhere to ethical standards of the teaching profession, abiding by laws, policies and procedures that govern the schools
• Must be certified in Special Education
• Must be deemed "Highly Qualified" to teach special education
• Prepare lessons and provide learning opportunities in accordance with the academic level needed to reach exceptional children in a classroom setting
• Maintain classroom surroundings in order to enhance the learning environment
• Commitment to high achievement for all students
