Crum & Forster Company Overview:

The Medical Business Unit (SBU) within Accident & Health encompasses multiple profit centers, including Stop Loss, Managed Care, and Ancillary products.

 

We are seeking an Executive Assistant to support the Senior Vice President (SVP) responsible for the overall leadership and oversight of the MBU. This role will focus on coordinating and managing executive scheduling, preparing and organizing strategic materials, and supporting board meetings and related documentation. As a key partner to the SVP, this position will help ensure meetings and materials are efficient and effective, and will facilitate the flow of critical business information across the MBU.

 

The ideal candidate will possess exemplary time management skills, the ability to anticipate the SVP’s needs, and a professional demeanor. This role requires seamless interaction with senior management, department leaders, and staff across all MBU profit centers as well as shared services. The ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism is essential.

Job Description:

What you will do:

  • Manage and coordinate the SVP’s calendar, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and prioritizing sensitive matters
  • Arrange travel, including booking flights and hotels, preparing itineraries, and handling related logistics
  • Organize meetings, send reminders, and coordinate logistics (e.g., catering, virtual links)
  • Partner with Events & Sponsorships team as needed for internal and external functions
  • Take minutes during meetings and distribute summaries (as needed)
  • Prepare and organize strategic materials, board meeting documents, and other executive resources
  • Perform administrative tasks such as drafting memos, preparing communications, and maintaining accurate records
  • Greet and assist visitors in the Glastonbury office as needed
  • Prepare, submit, and track expense reports for the SVP
  • Support administrative operational tasks such as NDA requests, uploading documents to ContractLogix, tracking program renewals, etc.
  • Source office supplies and manage e-filing systems
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for document preparation and scheduling
  • Effectively utilize current and future communication and collaboration tools in our environment such as Sharepoint, MS Teams, Microsoft Copilot, etc.
  • Act as a point of contact for general communications and as a liaison between internal Shared Services(Compliance, Legal, Regulatory, Actuarial, Claims, Finance) and Underwriting

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 6+ years of administrative or executive assistant experience (experience in a corporate or finance/insurance environment preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools – Outlook (calendar), Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professional demeanor and ability to handle confidential information
  • Proactive, self-directed, and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Will abide by departmental policies and procedures, including authority levels, to comply with C&F's risk management controls
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, ideally 2-3 days in the office.

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $53,400 to a maximum of $78,300. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
