POSITION: Executive Assistant for the President's Office

LOCATION: NDSCS - Wahpeton, North Dakota

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, 12-month, benefited position

JOB SUMMARY: The Executive Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the President and the Presidents Office. This position establishes priorities, manages multiple responsibilities, and demonstrates exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills while building effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals.

The Executive Assistant serves as a primary point of communication on behalf of the President, interacting with members of the NDSCS college community, the North Dakota University System, State Board of Higher Education (SBHE) members, state and federal agencies, legislators, business and industry partners, and alumni. Responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring and tracking the Presidents Office budget and expenditures, serving as the office manager for the President, coordinating special events and functions, submitting all NDSCS legal review requests, and serving as the institutions Open Records Administrator. This position also ensures efficient office operations, confidential handling of sensitive matters, and effective coordination of divisional priorities. The Executive Assistant exercises sound judgement, professionalism, discretion, and initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must support the mission, vision, and values of NDSCS

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or an Associate degree with additional, equivalent experience

  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in a variety of software (ex. Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint & Outlook)

  • Proficient in scheduling software

  • Motivated, self-directed, able to work effectively and professionally with the public, employees and students in a team setting.

  • Experience working with budgets, processing request for payments, and tracking expenses

  • Demonstrated organizational skills

  • Demonstrated positive customer service

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a college setting working with the public, faculty, staff, and students

  • Experience working in PeopleSoft HCM

  • Experience in an executive office

Additional Information

SALARY: $55,000-$60,000, commensurate with education and experience

BENEFITS: NDSCS offers a comprehensive benefits package with an estimated value of over $25,000. The package includes single or family health insurance coverage with premiums paid for by the College - with an effective date for new employees the first of the month following the date of hire.
