Executive Assistant (Confidential)
The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Executive Assistant (Confidential) within the Office of the Superintendent. The Executive Assistant serves as a direct report to the Superintendent, and is expectedto provide all necessary support and assistance as required and directed by the Superintendent. The Executive Assistant also provides administrative leadership and support towards the achievement of the District's mission and goals.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university.
- A New Jersey Standard Principal or School Administrator's certification.
- Demonstrated experience as a Principal or building/district level administrator, preferable.
- Three (3) years of successful administrative experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provides all necessary support and assistance as required.
- Assists the Superintendent with policy development and management by providing expert management recommendations, consultation, and assistance in the full range of administrative and management support issues for the District.
- Develops, reviews, and recommends organizational alternatives to enhance District performance on all administrative and management issues.
- Supports the Superintendent on all phases of information technology, and general support service activities.
- Serves as an advisor in the formulation of the District's short and long range plans/goals.
- Integrates planning initiatives into resource formulation.
- Directs, plans, coordinates, and develops policies and procedures related to administrative functions.
- Directs the staff of the Administrative Office in the provision of the procurement of supplies and equipment, contract negotiations, interagency agreements, printing/reproduction, property management, space management, travel/transportation, management analysis, information technology, physical and personnel security in support of the needs of the Deputy Superintendent.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and theories of education.
- Thorough knowledge of standard and innovative teacher training practice and considerable knowledge of principles, practices and coordination methods as they apply to educational program management.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative and school site personnel.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise correspondence/reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Ability to design and implement strategies which maximize employee potential and foster high ethical standards in meeting the District's vision, mission, and goals.
- Ability to develop and implement a District vision which integrates key national and program goals, priorities, values, and other factors.
- Ability to create a work environment that encourages creative thinking.
- Ability to make timely and effective decisions and produce results through strategic planning and the implementation and evaluation of programs and policies.
- Ability to acquire and administer human, financial, material and information resources in a manner which instills public trust and accomplishes the District's mission.
- Ability to use new technology to enhance decision making.
- Ability to explain, advocate, and express facts and ideas in a convincing manner.
- Ability to negotiate with individuals and groups internally and externally.
- Ability to develop an expansive professional network with other organizations and to identify the internal and external politics that impact the work of the District.

Salary Range: $115,000-$165,000
