About the Position
Lane County is seeking an experienced and highly professional Executive Assistant to support the County Counsel, the County's chief legal officer, and the Office of County Counsel.
This position serves as a trusted administrative partner in a fast-paced, complex legal environment and requires exceptional judgment, discretion, organization, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter who works effectively both independently and collaboratively, manages competing priorities with ease, and communicates professionally with a wide range of internal and external partners.
The Executive Assistant provides confidential, senior-level administrative and office management support to the County Counsel and Deputy County Counsel. Responsibilities include coordinating complex calendars and meetings, preparing and processing documents and reports, maintaining confidential records, researching and analyzing information, responding to inquiries, and ensuring matters are directed to the appropriate staff or resources.
The position may also support budget and payroll processes, prepare monthly and annual reports, participate in leadership meetings, assist with departmental planning and goals, and coordinate special projects.
We are looking for someone who brings strong administrative and technical skills, adaptability, sound judgment, and the ability to anticipate needs and keep work moving in a highly confidential professional environment.
About the Division
The office of County Counsel consists of Legal Services, Risk Management, Public Records Requests, and Workers' Compensation.

This position requires contact with interoffice personnel, attorneys, courts, other county departments, and the general public. To what degree has your experience equipped you to handle a variety of contacts such as this in any given situation? Describe the techniques you would use to obtain required information while keeping a proper customer service approach with non-responsive parties.
This position is in the Office of Legal Counsel, assisting County Counsel and the Deputy County Counsel for Lane County. Please provide a brief overview of the following:
a. Describe your experience providing administrative services to an organization or individual. Be specific in your response, including the type of organization, your duties, level of responsibility, and how you prioritize multiple tasks with multiple deadlines.
b. Your experience in the creation, formatting and use of legal documents for filing in state and federal court and with administrative agencies or other experience within the legal field.

Health insurance coverage becomes effective the first of the month following your first 30-days as an eligible employee.
Medical/Rx/Vision - Lane County offers medical, prescription and vision exam coverage for you and your eligible dependents. The plan options and costs per month for 2026 are outlined below:
If you enroll in the HDHP the County will contribute to your HSA:
For eligible members of unions LCPOA, 626, Admin Pro, and AFSCME Physicians $1,700 for individual coverage and $3,400 for family coverage.
For eligible members of unions AFSCME General, AFSCME Nurses, FOPPO, PAA, and non-represented employees $1,600 for individual coverage and $3,200 for family coverage. Those who complete the requirements to receive the Live Well Credit by November 30, 2026, will receive an additional contribution of $400 individual or $800 family, funded in 2027.
These amounts are prorated based on date of hire.
All eligible employees who complete a Health History Risk Assessment (HHRA), Biometric Screening, and Comprehensive Health Review (CHR) at the Live Well Center receive a $20 per month credit.
Wellness Clinic - The Live Well Center is for Lane County benefits-eligible employees, spouses and dependents (ages 2 and up) who are enrolled in the Lane County health plan. Marathon Health manages the Live Well Center and their clinical team provides confidential, affordable care for your acute and preventive healthcare needs.
