Job Description:

The Executive Assistant for the Brown Arts Institute (BAI) has an in-depth understanding of Institute mission and vision, and how they support the University. The position serves as a central liaison between Senior Leadership, department staff, faculty, and other constituents with whom the department interacts. The Executive Assistant provides high-level support to the Director, and Sr. Director of Administration and Operations, and proactively organizes their schedule, staffs meetings, manages various administrative functions, and monitors critical phases of important projects. This position is also relied upon to research, analyze and write reports to effectively support the work of the BAI Senior Leadership which includes independent project management.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree plus at least three (3) years of administrative experience, or equivalent combination of skills and experience.

  • Experience in an academic or non-profit arts setting preferred.

  • Proven organizational, administrative, and time management skills.

  • Initiative and judgment to independently problem solve, ability to multitask and prioritize workload

  • The ability to independently develop and implement short- and long-term goals.

  • Ability to work independently, but also as a strong team member when the situation warrants.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Customer-focused, customer service oriented

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google platforms
