Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef to support the Middletown City School District in Middletown, OH. This role provides culinary leadership for high-volume K‑12 breakfast, lunch, catering, and summer feeding programs, with a strong focus on food quality, menu execution, and presentation. Middletown City Schools is a large, progressive district and proud CEP participant, serving free breakfast and lunch daily with high student participation. What You'll Do

  • Lead daily culinary operations for high‑volume K‑12 breakfast and lunch programs

  • Oversee catering services and special events across the district

  • Execute menu planning, food preparation, and production standards

  • Support innovative programs including mobile food truck and summer feeding initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and Sodexo standards

  • Train, coach, and inspire culinary team members while supporting marketing and “Chef in the Classroom” initiatives

What You Bring

  • Proven culinary leadership experience, preferably in a K‑12 school environment
  • Strong high‑volume production and catering expertise
  • ServSafe Certification (required)
  • Knowledge of NSLP guidelines (preferred)
  • Excellent food presentation and display of cooking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experienceMinimum Management Experience - 2 years Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
