Executive Chef

Position Overview

The Marriott Cincinnati North is seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences, strong banquet and catering background, managing kitchen operations, and driving culinary innovation. This leadership role requires a strong commitment to quality, creativity, and team development in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.
  • Develop and design menus that reflect current culinary trends while meeting guest preferences and dietary needs.
  • Manage inventory, food costs, and ordering to maximize profitability without compromising quality.
  • Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff to foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Collaborate with hotel management and other departments to coordinate catering and banquet services.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships to source the best ingredients and supplies.
  • Monitor and control kitchen labor costs and schedules effectively.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve kitchen processes and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar leadership role in a hotel or upscale restaurant setting.
  • Exceptional culinary skills with a strong knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and analyze financial reports.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and regulations.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and quality.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years hotel kitchen experience
  • Strong Hotel Banquet experience
  • Strong Knowledge of culinary math, ordering and scheduling
