Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our upscale Continuum Care Community that offers Country Club style dining to our residents and the community. This is a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful setting nestled in the hub of Covington. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals to our residents. You will lead a team of talented staff, manage the kitchen operations, and maintain exceptional standards of food preparation, presentation, and service.

Culinary Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a creative and diverse menu plan, considering residents' dietary restrictions, preferences, and nutritional requirements.
  • Provide culinary leadership by creating innovative and appealing dishes that exceed expectations and satisfy residents' palates.
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all meals and maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation.

Team Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, sous chefs, and kitchen assistants.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional development.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement necessary training programs to enhance staff skills.

Menu Planning and Ordering:

  • Develop seasonal menus that offer a variety of nutritious and delicious meal options, taking into account residents' dietary needs and preferences.
  • Establish relationships with local vendors to source high-quality ingredients and products for the kitchen.
  • Manage inventory levels effectively, ensuring adequate supplies are available while minimizing waste and controlling costs.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including HACCP guidelines and local health department requirements.
  • Implement and maintain proper food handling procedures, including storage, preparation, cooking, and serving.
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, coordinating repairs and maintenance as needed.

Resident Engagement and Satisfaction:

  • Interact with residents to understand their feedback, preferences, and special requests, incorporating them into the menu planning process.
  • Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Director to organize culinary events, tastings, and educational sessions for residents, promoting a positive dining experience.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar role, preferably in an upscale dining environment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu development, and nutrition principles.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional creativity and passion for culinary arts, staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends.
  • Proficient computer skills for menu planning, inventory management, and ordering systems.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, staff, and vendors.
