16 years of professional experience providing public speaking, executive communications, media relations, leadership communications, or executive coaching services.
Demonstrated experience training senior executives, C-suite leaders, SES officials, or equivalent leadership personnel.
Demonstrated experience supporting leaders in high-stakes communications environments, including Congressional testimony, media appearances, public health communications, scientific presentations, or crisis communications.
Experience designing and delivering both individual and group training programs.
Demonstrated experience evaluating training effectiveness and developing performance improvement strategies.
Expertise in executive communications and public speaking instruction.
Strong understanding of executive presence, storytelling, audience engagement, and message development.
Advanced facilitation and presentation skills.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

DUTIES:
Executive Communications Specialist / Public Speaking Trainer
The Executive Communications Trainer will support the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by designing, developing, and delivering executive communications and public speaking training programs for Senior Executive Service (SES) members and other senior leaders. This position will provide individualized coaching, facilitate group workshops, evaluate communication effectiveness, and develop resources that help leaders communicate with clarity, confidence, and impact across a broad range of internal and external engagements.
The Executive Communications Trainer will possess extensive experience coaching senior executives and leaders in high-visibility communication environments, including Congressional testimony, media interviews, scientific conferences, crisis communications, stakeholder engagement activities, and executive presentations. The position requires expertise in strategic messaging, executive presence, audience engagement, and adult learning methodologies.
Design and deliver one-on-one executive coaching sessions for SES members and senior FDA leaders.
Develop individualized communication improvement plans tailored to each participant's goals, communication style, and responsibilities.
Conduct group workshops and seminars focused on public speaking, executive presence, storytelling, message development, audience engagement, and Q&A management.
Train leaders to define clear communication objectives and align messaging with organizational priorities and strategic communications goals.
Assist executives in tailoring messages for various audiences and time-constrained speaking opportunities.
Provide preparation and coaching for high-profile speaking engagements, panel discussions, media interviews, congressional interactions, and public events.
Assess communication effectiveness through observation, video review, participant feedback, and other evaluation techniques.
Deliver constructive feedback and actionable recommendations to improve communication performance.
Develop training curricula, facilitator guides, job aids, reference materials, and other instructional resources.
Collaborate with FDA stakeholders to establish training objectives, evaluate participant progress, and continuously improve program effectiveness.
Remain current on best practices in executive communications, public speaking, leadership development, and adult learning methodologies.
Support project meetings, status reporting, and other contract-related activities as required.
