    Location: Chelan, Washington - On-site Role

    Organization & Facility Profile: Lake Chelan Community Center is a vital anchor for our community, operating out of a premier 44,000-square-foot multi-use facility. Our campus features a regulation gymnasium, performing arts center, short- and long-term commercial/non-profit office space rentals, and multi-purpose conference and event spaces. We blend accessible community programming with a robust asset-rental model to ensure long-term community impact and financial sustainability. Position Summary The Executive Director serves as the Chief Executive Officer and operations leader of the center. This role requires a unique blend of visionary non-profit leadership and sharp commercial business acumen. The Executive Director is responsible for maximizing community programming, driving earned income through strategic space and asset rentals, and managing a complex facility budget.

    Key Responsibilities

    Facility Asset Management & Revenue Generation

    • Earned Revenue Strategy: Maximize the utilization and financial return of the center's physical assets, including corporate rentals for the conference center and booking external productions/performers for the performing arts center.
    • Tenant Relations: Oversee the leasing and management of the on-site office spaces, ensuring high occupancy rates, positive tenant relations, and lease compliance.
    • Athletic & Recreation Oversight: Guide the management of the gymnasium, balancing profitable tournament/league rentals with accessible community open-gym and youth sports programs.
    • Vendor & Contractor Management: Supervise third-party vendors for facility maintenance, HVAC, security, janitorial services, and specialized theatrical/AV production teams.

    Fundraising & Fiscal Leadership

    • Diversified Funding: Balance earned income with a robust philanthropic portfolio, including individual major donors, corporate sponsorships, and government/foundation grants.
    • Capital & Operations Budgeting: Formulate and manage an annual operating budget that accounts for heavy facility overhead, capital replacement reserves (sinking funds), and program expenses.

    Programming & Creative Vision

    • Arts & Culture Cultivation: Collaborate with artistic staff and partners to curate diverse, culturally rich programming for the performing arts center that serves the local community.
    • Inclusive Programming: Ensure the gymnasium and event spaces host equitable programming that addresses local health, wellness, and social needs.

    Team Leadership & Governance

    • Multi-Disciplinary Team Management: Hire, mentor, and lead a diverse staff across distinct departments (including Facilities/Operations, Arts Programming, Athletics, Events/Hospitality, and Fundraising).

    Marketing & Communications

    • Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to increase community awareness and participation. Coordinate promotional campaigns for events and fundraising activities. Identify opportunities to enhance the Community Center's visibility and reputation within the community and region.
    • Brand Support: Maintain branding standards to ensure consistent representation of the Community Center across all platforms and materials. Continue to build a strong brand that advances the Community Center's mission and supports growth objectives.
    • Communications: Serve as the primary spokesperson and public representative of the Community Center, cultivating positive relationships with community members, media, partners and stakeholders. Manage the website, social media platforms, and other communication channels to ensure consistent messaging and brand identity.

    Human Resources/Personnel

    • Oversight: Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all human resources functions, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, employee relations, and staff development. Recruit, hire, and supervise staff to ensure a high-performing and mission-driven workforce. Oversee volunteer screening and training where applicable.
    • Employee Performance: Oversee employee performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, evaluations, and corrective action when necessary.
    • Records & Safety: Maintain accurate personnel records and ensure compliance with employment, safety, and labor regulations. Promote workplace safety and risk management practices to protect employees, volunteers, participants, and organizational assets.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: 7+ years of progressive senior leadership experience. Direct experience managing multi-use facilities, community centers, public venues, or hospitality/property management assets is highly preferred.
    • Business & Real Estate Savvy: Proven track record in lease negotiation, property management, or large-scale event space/theater booking.
    • Financial Acumen: Deep experience managing complex operational budgets ($1M+ preferred) with multiple revenue streams (earned income + philanthropic giving).
    • Technical Familiarity: Understanding of facility management software, venue booking systems (e.g., Event Temple, Tripleseat), and standard non-profit CRM tools.

    Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration (MBA), or Public Administration (MPA) preferred.
