The ED has ultimate responsibility for the academic success of Sizer School. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the success of the mission and vision of the school and the renewal of the school\u2019s charter. The ED is responsible for direct supervision of the school Leadership Team including the Principal.\n \nRequirements \nThe Executive Director of Sizer School will possess an advanced degree in a relevant field and 5+ years experience in administrative education management. \nThe Executive Director will demonstrate: \nCommitment to Sizer School\u2019s mission and to student success; \nA willingness and ability to set and maintain the highest degree of expectations for all policies, and procedures; \nAn ability to draw on data to drive practice; \nAn ability to connect with and listen to others, including community members, parents, students, colleagues, and trustees; \nExperience with diverse populations; and \nAn ability to develop, support and manage a successful staff.\n \nResponsibilities \nAdherence to the Mission and Vision (as defined by the charter) \nGuides constituents in understanding and implementing the school mission and vision; and \nIn conjunction with the Board of Trustees, develops goals with annual accountability in line with the terms of the school\u2019s charter and Accountability Plan and establishes systems for implementing, evaluating, and revising goals.\n \nFiscal Accountability \nSets effective and appropriate organizational and budgetary priorities to maximize student achievement and the success of the school; \nWorks with the Board of Trustees to develop and manage the annual operating budget; \nEnsures the financial viability of the school and implements proper financial controls; \nOversees preparation of monthly financial reports to the Board of Trustees; \nImplements appropriate fiscal management, including payroll; \nWorks with the Foundation and other constituents to raise funds to meet operational and capital needs; and \nAdvances a clearly defined plan that guides all fundraising and marketing strategies employed by the school.\n \nCompliance and Regulatory \nSupervises the filing of all legal and regulatory documents; \nMonitors compliance with relevant laws and regulations; \nServes, along with the Board of Trustees, as the steward of the charter; \nEnsures compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations; and \nMaintains the official set of records for the Board of Trustees.\n \nOrganizational Viability \nMaintains oversight of academic programs, ensuring that programs adhere to school mission; \nCollaborates with the Principal to ensure the quality of academic performance; \nEvaluates and reports on the success of the academic program; \nEnsures a positive, structured, and safe learning environment for all students; \nOversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmatic and safety policies and procedures; \nDevelops personnel policies which promote a sustainable and satisfying work environment; \nEnsures the maintenance of an appropriate facility which promotes the mission and vision of the school (e.g. rent, upkeep, renovation, purchasing); \nOversees personnel procedures and manages salaries and benefits; \nEnsures the recruitment and retention of a representative student body; \nEnsures the implementation of effective technology, including information management, networking and website upkeep; \nSupervises the Director of Food Services and ensures the successful implementation of the Food Services Program; \nCoordinates monthly Board meetings and prepares a management report with recommendations for presentation at Board meetings; and \nWorks with the financial consultant company to prepare documents for Finance Committee meetings and attends Committee meetings.\n \nPublic Relations and Community \nArticulates the mission and vision of Sizer School to the community, setting the tone for the school\u2019s culture of high academic and social expectations; \nDevelops Annual Reports which demonstrate progress toward goals; \nRepresents the school to constituents, stakeholders, and the broader community; and \nNetworks and takes a visible position within the broader community.
