Executive Director Sudbury Extended Day | Sudbury, Massachusetts Lead a Trusted Community Organization into Its Next Chapter Sudbury Extended Day (SED), a respected nonprofit organization serving the Sudbury community since 1984, is seeking an experienced and collaborative Executive Director to lead our organization into its next phase of growth and impact. Serving more than 600 children annually across seven program locations, SED provides high-quality before- and after-school programs that support children's social, emotional, and academic development while helping families balance the demands of work and family life. This is an exciting time to join the organization. Following the successful renewal of our partnership and lease agreement with Sudbury Public Schools, SED has secured a strong foundation for the future. The next Executive Director will have the opportunity to build upon decades of success while helping shape the organization's long-term vision, strengthen community partnerships, support a dedicated staff team, and ensure exceptional experiences for children and families. Position Overview Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer and primary spokesperson for the organization. The Executive Director oversees all aspects of organizational leadership, including: Strategic planning and organizational leadership Program quality and continuous improvement Staff leadership, development, and organizational culture Community engagement and stakeholder relations Financial management and operational oversight Regulatory compliance and risk management Partnership development and organizational sustainability The Executive Director maintains a visible presence throughout the organization and works closely with families, staff, school leaders, community partners, and the Board to ensure SED continues to deliver high-quality, safe, and engaging programs. Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be a mission-driven leader who brings: Experience leading teams and developing people Strong relationship-building and communication skills Strategic thinking balanced with operational excellence Financial and organizational management experience Ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships with professionalism and empathy Commitment to high-quality programming and child-centered outcomes Knowledge of youth development, education, nonprofit management, or a related field Experience with multi-site operations and EEC regulations preferred Compensation & Benefits Full-time, exempt position Salary range: $135,000–$150,000 , commensurate with experience Annual performance-based bonus opportunity Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, retirement benefits, and professional development support To Apply Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter.
