The Human Resources Division within Morgan Stanley is looking for an Executive Director to join the HR Talent Management and Development team.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders across the businesses to help implement customized, practical and commercial talent and engagement strategies for their businesses
  • Track metrics, highlighting progress and focusing on areas of opportunity
  • Develop and implement learning and development programs focused on growth and career development
  • Partner with colleagues in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Data and Analytics, and our Talent and Diversity Centers of Excellence to deliver solutions to clients
  • Liaise with external partner organizations and professionals to develop and deepen relationships in support of our talent goals
  • Partner and advise employees in groups programs or individually on issues related to talent development and diversity and inclusion
  • Support and manage talent programs and experiences that drive our overall strategy in partnership with the Talent & Diversity Advisors
  • Program and project management of learning and development efforts by managing timelines, overseeing the design process and coordinating the delivery of training to stakeholders
  • Create and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners; end to end vendor management including contracting, sourcing, approval process and invoice payments
  • Partner closely with divisional Affinity groups and Diversity Committees to ensure divisional alignment and consistency

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Senior HR/talent leader supporting high‑intensity, revenue‑driven businesses (preferably investment banking or capital markets)
  • Proven succession planning and leadership pipeline development
  • Demonstrated ability to embed DEI in staffing, evaluation, and promotion processes
  • Experience leading culture and ways‑of‑working transformation in fast‑moving environments  
  • Strong people analytics capability; uses data to influence leaders and anticipate talent risks 
  • Executive presence with credibility among senior leaders
  • High learning agility and comfort with ambiguity
  • Analytical strength and data‑driven storytelling  
  • Ability to influence without authority across global teams
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and a bias for practical action

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $165,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
