The Torrance Unified School District consists of 17 elementary, 8 middle, 4 high schools, 1 continuation, and 1 alternative high school. The District also has 3 adult school campuses. Torrance Unified was established in 1947 and unified in 1948, and is nestled in the heart of the South Bay, in the southwestern part of Los Angeles County. Our District is bordered by the Palos Verdes Peninsula on the south, the beach cities - Redondo, Hermosa, and Manhattan Beach - to the west, and the cities of Lawndale and Hawthorne to the north. Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Executive Director, Torrance Meridian Academy shall provide visionary leadership, strategic oversight, operational management, governance coordination, and instructional direction for the District's Torrance Meridian Academy. The Executive Director shall serve as the District's senior administrative leader responsible for implementation, accountability, operational sustainability, instructional innovation, stakeholder coordination, and governance support associated with the academy. The Executive Director shall ensure that all academy operations align with Board priorities, District goals, California Education Code, charter school law, collective bargaining agreements, District policies, and the mission of Torrance Unified School District to provide equitable, rigorous, innovative, and student-centered educational opportunities. The Executive Director shall lead the District's efforts to implement and sustain innovative instructional systems including online, blended, hybrid, project-based, competency-based, and personalized learning programs while maintaining strong governance systems, fiscal accountability, educational effectiveness, operational integrity, and public transparency.

EDUCATION Master's Degree required in: - Educational Administration; - Educational Leadership; - Curriculum and Instruction; or - Related field. - Doctorate degree preferred. EXPERIENCE - Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience. - Minimum of three (3) years successful site or district administrative leadership experience. - Experience in: - innovative instructional programs; - online or blended learning systems; - project-based learning; - personalized learning systems; - educational innovation initiatives; - instructional leadership; - organizational change management strongly preferred. - Experience leading school redesign, instructional transformation, or innovative educational initiatives highly desirable. *Possession of a valid California Administrative Credential.
