ABOUT THE ROLE
This Executive Director opportunity sits within the US Capital Markets Risk Management team of a well-established global financial institution, offering senior leadership of a Non-Bank Financial Institution counterparty credit risk portfolio spanning hedge funds, private capital firms, and institutional asset managers. The role combines meaningful credit authority adjudicating complex trading and financing transactions with team leadership, regulatory expertise, and deep cross-functional engagement across trading, structuring, operations, and control functions. It's the right seat for a seasoned credit professional with 10+ years of experience and deep counterparty credit expertise across alternative investment sectors who combines strong independent judgment with collaborative instincts and the executive presence to advise senior business partners and manage a high-performing team of credit risk analysts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and adjudicate an NBFI counterparty credit risk portfolio focused on hedge funds, private capital firms, and institutional asset managers across trading and financing activities including OTC derivatives, prime brokerage, repo, and structured financing
Lead, develop, and foster a strong culture of professionalism, collaboration, and teamwork within a team of credit risk analysts
Collaborate closely with line of business partners to understand, assess, and monitor credit risk while ensuring compliance with internal credit policies, guidelines, and risk appetite
Provide constructive advice and guidance to relationship managers on credit transactions;attend client meetings with front-line relationship managers as appropriate
Demonstrate a deep understanding of current and developing regulatory issues;effectively utilize credit risk rating methodologies to ensure objective and accurate risk assessment across the portfolio
Review and approve credit-related provisions in trading documentation including ISDA, GMRA, prime brokerage, and structured financing agreements
Provide subject matter expertise and consulting support to influence the development, implementation, and management of credit policies and programs related to covered sectors
Leverage broad product knowledge across OTC derivatives (FX, rates, equities, commodities), middle market lending, CLOs, and commercial real estate warehouse financing to evaluate a wide range of business requests
Operate effectively within a matrixed management environment;manage shifting or competing priorities under pressure while maintaining a high standard of professional integrity
