Astrion is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Executive Support Action Officer (AO) to support the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration (SAF/SQ) in Arlington, VA. SAF/SQ oversees Department of the Air Force (DAF) space systems acquisition and architecture integration, including coordination with allied, civil, and commercial partners to ensure a unified United States Space Force (USSF) architecture.
These responsibilities are executed in close collaboration with the Chief of Space Operations (CSO) and the USSF staff. SAF/SQ also serves as the Space Service Acquisition Executive (SAE) and provides oversight for the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (SpRCO), Space Systems Command (SSC), and the Space Development Agency (SDA).
SAF/SQ’s guiding objectives are to:
1. Drive speed into space acquisitions.
2. Increase resilience across space architectures.
3. Integrate space capabilities with other warfighting domains.
4. Enforce disciplined program management practices.
5. Ensure space and ground acquisitions are synchronized for operational readiness.
Achieving these objectives requires professionals with strong systems engineering, program management, architectural analysis, and executive communications expertise.
