Responsibilities
The Executive Technical Underwriter serves as a senior technical and strategic authority within the underwriting organization. This role applies underwriting expertise, advanced analytics, and market insight to shape underwriting strategy, optimize portfolio performance, and guide complex risk decisions across the business.
Unlike the Executive Technical Underwriter, which focuses on managing and growing an individual book of business, the Underwriting Specialist operates at a broader portfolio and enterprise level, influencing underwriting appetite, pricing strategy, risk selection frameworks, and operational execution. This position partners closely with underwriting leadership, actuarial, product, claims, and business development teams to ensure BerkleyNet's underwriting strategy drives sustainable profitability and long-term growth.
The Executive Technical Underwriter is also a recognized subject matter expert, setting technical standards, mentoring senior underwriters, and leading high-impact initiatives that shape the future of the underwriting function.

Salary Range: $100k-$130k The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
