Exercise Physiologist

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Facility: Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside Hospital

Department: Cardiac Nuclear Medicine 

Schedule: Days | Part-time

• Design and lead personalized exercise therapy programs tailored to individual patient test data, medical histories, and current medication regimens to safely drive optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
• Assess and monitor patient physiological responses before, during, and after therapy sessions, proactively identifying clinical contraindications or abnormal changes to ensure continuous patient safety.
• Adapt and evolve care plans in real time based on clinical data and patient feedback, pivoting strategies or escalating care to medical professionals when necessary to maximize recovery milestones.
• Educate and empower patients, peers, and the community through targeted health information, public speaking, and wellness classes that inspire long-term healthy habits.
• Champion operational excellence and continuity by keeping specialized clinical equipment precisely calibrated and stepping in to provide seamless leadership oversight for the department in the manager’s absence.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Athletic Trainer credentialed from the Florida Board of Athletic Training preferred. 
• Certification specializing in Sports Medicine preferred. 
• Exercise Physiologist credentialed from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) preferred.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree preferred.
