Dept: Non-Invasive Cardiology
Schedule: Varies Day shift
Hours per biweekly pay period: 80 hours
Position Summary: Analyzes patients' fitness in order to help them improve their health or maintain good health. Assists patients with heart disease and other chronic conditions, like diabetes or pulmonary (lung) disease, to regain their health. May also work with amateur and professional athletes to boost their performance or recover from injuries. Provides a full range of exercise physiology services, including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with professional practices and ethical standards. Conducts diagnostic procedures including stress tests and tilt table testing.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in exercise science or physiology.
BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date.
ACLS required by end of unit orientation
Preferred:
Certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the American Society of Exercise Physiologists (ASEP).
Master's degree.
