    Position Description

    The Department of Nutrition and Public Health at the University of Saint Joseph invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track- or non-tenure-track faculty position in exercise science at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor starting in January 2027 or August 2027. The rank and the type of position (tenure-track or non-tenure-track) will be determined based on the academic and professional qualifications and experiences of the candidate. The successful candidate will be a dynamic educator with expertise in exercise science/physiology who can inspire and mentor students and help to shape and guide the future direction of this growing undergraduate program. The ideal candidate will use evidence-based best practices in support of the education of future exercise science professionals through an interdisciplinary lens. Candidates are expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

    Required Skills/Qualifications

    • Earned masters degree in exercise science, or closely related field, is required
    • Earned doctoral degree is required for tenure-track
    • Earned credential at the national and state level as needed for specific discipline.
    • Minimum of two years of teaching in academic programs is preferred with experience in curriculum development, online teaching, and specialized program accreditation is preferred.
    • Commitment to the mission and values of the University and to the highest standards of the profession of exercise science.
    • Developing or continuing an active program of scholarship preferred

    The salary range for this position falls within the standard Faculty compensation.
