Job Description Expeditor II supports manufacturing operations by ensuring purchased material is available to meet production schedules. This position serves as the primary liaison between Production, Planning, Receiving, and suppliers to resolve material shortages, expedite critical components, and communicate delivery risks. Expeditor II proactively monitors supplier commitments, inventory availability, and production priorities to minimize disruptions while supporting the purchasing team. Job Responsibilities: Essential Job Functions: Manufacturing Support Monitor open purchase orders and supplier commitments to support daily production requirements. Expedite critical material shortages to minimize production downtime. Coordinate with Production Planners to prioritize components supporting changing manufacturing schedules. Communicate supplier delays and recovery plans to Buyers, Planning, Production, and Management. Monitor shortage reports and work with suppliers to improve delivery performance. Assist Receiving and Buyers in resolving shipment discrepancies impacting production. Supplier Coordination Maintain frequent communication with suppliers regarding shipment status, lead time changes, and delivery commitments. Update purchase orders with current supplier promise dates and accurate delivery information. Maintain supplier contact information and communication records within company systems. Assist Buyers by gathering supplier information needed to resolve delivery or technical issues. Continuous Improvement Participate in production meetings as required to communicate material status. Recommend process improvements that improve supplier responsiveness and inventory availability. Support departmental metrics for supplier on-time delivery and expedite response. Other Exercises independent judgment in prioritizing supplier follow-up activities while escalating issues requiring Buyer involvement. Develops working knowledge of assigned product families and manufacturing processes to support production requirements. Maintain vendor contacts in xrm to ensure a smooth flow when expediting. Scheduling inventory to ensure components are on hand for LFM production. Non-essential Job Functions: Other responsibilities as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Qualification Requirements: Two years of experience in manufacturing, purchasing, planning, production control, inventory management, or supply chain. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems preferred. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple urgent requests in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Working Environment: Office and Manufacturing environment in an air conditioned and well-lit area.
