This logistics company is looking for a dependable Expeditor to support a busy warehouse and cross-dock operation. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with computers, and able to manage shipping documentation and freight information accurately. This is a 4–6 week temporary project.
This is a fast-paced warehouse and cross-dock environment where you will work closely with warehouse operations, management, carriers, and customer service teams. The role combines computer work, documentation, data entry, and communication with warehouse personnel.
Expeditor Duties:
- Prepare, scan, organize, and distribute shipping and production documents.
- Use WM9 / TLS operating systems to enter and update load information.
- Verify paperwork and shipment information for accuracy.
- Review completed trailers for overages, shortages, damages, and mis-loads (OS&D).
- Research discrepancies and communicate findings to management.
- Prepare bills of lading, manifests, load slips, and check sheets.
- Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy shipment records.
- Verify load weights and CBM information.
- Update computer systems with the current status of each load.
- Identify and communicate exception freight before paperwork is distributed.
Schedule:
- Temporary project lasting 4–6 weeks
- Schedule: Sunday- Wednesday 6:00am- 4:30pm
- Must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Pay: $19.75 per hour
Expeditor Requirements:
- 1 year of previous computer-related work experience.
- Strong computer and data-entry skills.
- Experience with email and preparing reports.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to review and analyze information and identify discrepancies.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Warehouse, shipping, logistics, or cross-dock experience is a plus.
