The DoSeum is seeking an energetic, team-oriented individual who will promote joyful learning and active discovery through a variety of meaningful interactions with museum Guests. The Experience Engineer will engage learners of all abilities—and their caregivers—in the DoSeum Experience, fostering educational play and inquiry-based learning in the museum's galleries. Additional duties include professionally addressing Guest questions and comments; troubleshooting and resetting exhibition technology; light cleaning and resupply of exhibition spaces; selling general admission and special event tickets, as well as memberships; leading educational programming for families, school groups, and/or DoSeum camps; and documenting opportunities for improvement.As part of the Office of Gallery Facilitation & Experiences, the Experience Engineer serves as a primary face and voice of the organization. Successful candidates are personable, approachable, project positive energy, present in the moment, creative, and possess strong people and problem-solving skills. They are respectful to Guests and fellow Staff. Prior experience working with young children is highly valued, as is the ability to play with confidence and without hesitation. Delivering authentic, memorable, and delightful experiences for every learner is key to the position's success.Reporting to the Managers of Gallery Operations, this is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position paid based on hours worked. Candidates must be available to work weekends, which include both Saturdays and Sundays, as this is a requirement of the position.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESFacilitate caregiver-child interactions throughout museum galleries and outdoor spaces, encouraging curiosity, exploration, and learning through playLead educational activities and programs using established curriculum, including gallery-based experiences, family programs, school visits, and DoSeum campsEngage learners of varying ages, abilities, learning styles by adapting facilitation techniques in real timeEncourage guests to explore exhibits and materials in creative, meaningful, and safe waysCollaborate with Education and Gallery staff to stay informed on current programs, facilitation strategies, schedules, and exhibit updatesGUEST SERVICE & OPERATIONSProvide welcoming, inclusive, and professional service to all guests, modeling DoSeum shared language and valuesStaff the front desk as assigned, including selling general admission tickets, special event tickets, and memberships, and completing associated cash-handling dutiesContribute to a safe, positive, and fun environment by prioritizing safety, courtesy, cleanliness, and efficiencyAdminister opening and closing procedures to ensure galleries and public spaces are show‑readyRotate through gallery and operational assignments based on daily needsMonitor exhibit functionality;
