Experienced Airport Civil Engineer / Project Manager

Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, has continued to exceed our strategic growth initiatives creating opportunity for our current and prospective team members. As a result, a full-time position is available for an experienced civil engineer / project manager to join our collaborative and innovative aviation team at our Chicago, IL office. This position will include a hybrid of both design and field work on runways, taxiways, aprons, highways, roads, and other related civil engineering projects as needed.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing, designing and leading airport civil engineering projects
• Evaluating and analyzing existing projects
• Preparing reports, budgets, cost estimates, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and permits
• Performing QA/QC tasks including leading design reviews
• Developing construction cost estimates for projects
• Serving as the onsite project engineer on construction projects as needed
• Visiting project sites to monitor progress and handling routine construction administration
• Assisting with client communications and attending client meetings.
• Other tasks as assigned.

A valid driver's license and up to approximately 25% travel (including some overnights) will be required.

The successful candidate will have the following background:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
• At least 6 years of relevant work experience
• PE License in the state of IL and ability to obtain in additional states as needed

The ideal candidate will have experience in any/all the following:

• At least 10 years of relevant previous experience on airport and/or transportation projects is highly preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
• Heavy civil construction experience

Salary Range: $99,000 to $146,000 \u2013 Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
