Honest-1 Auto Care of Mooresville is looking for an experienced, results-oriented Automotive Service Advisor who can build customer trust, confidently sell needed repairs and help keep a busy shop organized and productive.

This is more than a customer-service position. Our Service Advisor must be an effective salesperson, a careful organizer and a dependable second leader at the service counter. You should be comfortable discussing your production numbers, presenting Digital Vehicle Inspection findings, asking customers to authorize work and understanding how pricing, discounts and gross margin affect the business.

We have a steady car count, a loyal customer base, experienced technicians and growing opportunities in general automotive repair, European vehicles, light-duty diesel and fleet service.

What You'll Do

• Greet customers professionally and create a positive first impression.
• Listen carefully, ask good questions and document customer concerns accurately.
• Prepare accurate repair orders, estimates and customer authorizations.
• Present technician and Digital Vehicle Inspection findings in clear, understandable language.
• Establish priorities and confidently ask customers to authorize recommended work.
• Respond effectively to customer questions and objections without using pressure or scare tactics.
• Maintain consistent follow-up on estimates, declined work, vehicle status and promised completion times.
• Manage multiple customers, telephone calls, technician needs, parts issues and deadlines without losing important details.
• Monitor and contribute to sales, ARO, closing rate, labor hours and gross-profit goals.
• Quote work accurately and understand the effect that parts costs, labor pricing and discounts have on gross margin.
• Source the correct parts quickly and cost-effectively using available vendor resources.
• Work closely with technicians and management to keep workflow moving.
• Build and maintain relationships with individual and fleet customers.
• Help develop fleet business by following up with prospects and supporting maintenance schedules, priority service and account needs.
• Step forward and carry responsibility when the Service Manager is unavailable.
• Contribute to a professional, accountable and team-oriented shop culture.

What We're Looking For

• Five or more years of automotive Service Advisor experience strongly preferred.
• A record of measurable service sales and production.
• Confidence presenting repair recommendations, handling objections and asking for the work.
• Working knowledge of performance measures such as personal sales, repair-order count, ARO, closing rate, labor hours and gross profit.
• Practical understanding of gross-profit dollars, margin percentage and the effect of discounting.
• Strong automotive knowledge and a belief in preventive maintenance.
• Excellent customer communication and relationship-building skills.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality, including being ready to serve customers at opening.
• Strong organization, accuracy and follow-through.
• A sense of urgency and the ability to recognize what must be handled first.
• Composure when dealing with a busy counter, demanding customers or unexpected problems.
• Ability to work cooperatively with technicians, advisors, management, parts suppliers and fleet customers.
• Professional appearance, language and conduct.
• Comfort learning and using shop-management, DVI, texting and customer-communication systems.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and common office applications
• Accurate keyboarding skills of at least 30 WPM
• Ability to communicate professionally by telephone, text and email
• Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift light automotive items
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check

Compensation

• $65,000–$90,000+ annual earning potential
• Base guarantee plus performance-based commission
• Actual earnings will depend on experience, personal production and shop performance
