About the Team and Position

We are looking for a Automotive Technician to join our growing team.

You will be a critical part of a team that handles a wide range of services from routine maintenance to complex engine and electrical diagnostics. Youll be responsible for performing a variety of essential services that keep our customers on the road safely. You will work in a fast-paced high-volume environment ensuring every service is completed with precision and efficiency.

What Youll Be Doing

• Diagnose and Repair Vehicle Systems • Perform complex diagnostic tests using specialized tools scan tools and technical manuals to identify the root cause of mechanical electrical and electronic issues. • Execute repairs on a wide range of vehicle components and systems including engines transmissions brakes suspension steering air conditioning and electrical systems following manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
• Complete Scheduled Maintenance and Factory Recalls • Perform comprehensive scheduled maintenance services e.g. major interval services timing belt replacements and execute factory recall campaigns ensuring all necessary updates and repairs are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Customer Communication • Accurately document all services performed and communicate any findings to the Service Advisor. • Communicate findings clearly to service advisors advise on additional necessary repairs or maintenance and ensure complete transparency with the customers vehicle issues and solutions.
• Operational Excellence • Adhere to all dealership and OEM procedures for service work. • Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Team Collaboration • Work collaboratively with fellow technicians parts team members and service advisors to ensure a smooth and seamless workflow.
• Continuous Learning • Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques through ongoing training and certification programs. • Be a resource for junior technicians sharing your knowledge and helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

What You Should Have

5 years of experience as an Automotive Technician in a dealership or reputable independent shop. Foundational knowledge of automotive systems including engine transmission brakes and tires. Familiarity with a wide range of vehicle makes and models is a plus. ASE certifications are highly preferred with a focus on areas relevant to your specialization. OEM-specific training and certifications are a significant plus. Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex automotive issues. Expertise in using diagnostic software and specialized tools. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and time management skills. A strong commitment to quality and attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards. Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools - must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently.

Other Requirements

To be able to do your job at Carvana there are some basic requirements we want to share with you.

• Must be able to read write speak and understand English
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a valid drivers license
• The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat, cold, wet, humid and dry, arid conditions
• Will be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials
• May be required to work overtime and weekends
• Frequent standing and sitting with varying periods of each
• At times require working different shifts
• Lift up to 60 pounds frequently
• Walk up to three miles each day
