Experienced Bilingual Orthodontic Dental Assistant – Part-Time

Pay: $22.00–$27.00 per hour, based on orthodontic experience
Schedule: Approximately 3–4 days per month | Two orthodontic weeks per month


About the Position


Sunset Smiles is looking for an experienced, bilingual Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis.


We are seeking someone with strong hands-on orthodontic assisting experience who can work confidently, efficiently, and independently in a busy clinical environment.


This is not an entry-level or training position. Previous orthodontic assisting experience is required.


Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during orthodontic procedures
  
  
• Take orthodontic records, including X-rays, photographs, and digital scans
  
  
• Assist with bonding and debonding procedures
  
  
• Perform orthodontic wire changes and adjustments within the permitted scope of practice
  
  
• Assist with brackets, bands, retainers, and orthodontic appliances
  
  
• Assist with clear aligner procedures and attachments
  
  
• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments
  
  
• Follow sterilization and infection-control protocols
  
  
• Maintain orthodontic instruments, materials, and supplies
  
  
• Educate patients regarding braces, appliances, retainers, oral hygiene, and home care
  
  
• Accurately document treatment and clinical information
  
  
• Maintain an organized and efficient patient flow
  
  
• Provide professional and friendly patient care
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on Orthodontic Dental Assistant experience is REQUIRED
  
  
• Bilingual English/Spanish is REQUIRED
  
  
• Dental radiography certification as required by Florida regulations
  
  
• Strong knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and materials
  
  
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced orthodontic schedule
  
  
• Reliable, punctual, organized, and professional
  
  
• Strong communication and patient-care skills
  
  

Experience with digital scanning/iTero and clear aligner systems is highly preferred.

Schedule


This position is approximately 3–4 days per month, during two orthodontic weeks each month.


Wednesday availability is important. Additional orthodontic days will be coordinated in advance and may vary based on the monthly schedule.

Compensation


$22.00–$27.00 per hour, depending on orthodontic experience and qualifications.
