Experienced CNC Machine Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the implementation of Doosan 2100SSYYB including installation, working with the tech team on qualification as well as creating related documentation for internal implementation.
  • Training employees on operation
  • Creating and monitoring programs as new parts are added
  • Determining and purchasing tooling and material for initial parts run
  • Operating and troubleshooting the Doosan and other Swiss-style CNC machines as needed - loading bars of material, and monitoring operation & taking measurements
  • Maintaining quality assurance procedures and processes, performing quality audits
  • Maintaining equipment and supplies
  • Maintaining product specifications by observing machining operations, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls, replacing worn tools
  • Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and housekeeping
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions
  • Additional leadership responsibilities will be added depending on the candidate’s skillset, such as overseeing bi-annual calibration process, managing non-conforming product, participating in quality team and conducting internal audits.

Job requirements:

  • Minimum of ten years in CNC machining, large diameter turning
  • 3+ years of CAD/CAM programming
  • Basic math skills, including decimals and ability to convert between inches and metric measurements as well as advanced math skills such as geometry
  • Knowledge of metals and materials, including but not limited to steel, stainless steel, and copper, and their machine-ability and ability to use measuring equipment (micrometers, Dial or Digital Calipers, Optical comparator)
  • Demonstrated initiative and improvement mindset, including experience with documentation and training.
  • Familiarity with quality concepts, such as in-process auditing and lean manufacturing
  • Proven track record of reliability, dependability, maturity, attention to detail, and ability to learn is key as we will be providing comprehensive training on CNC machining.
