Role Description The Consulting Electrical Engineer position is a full-time, on-site role based in Linthicum, MD. This position is responsible for leading and performing electrical system design for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and related systems, from concept through construction documents. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications; coordinating with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and other disciplines; and collaborating closely with architects, owners, and other stakeholders. The engineer will review submittals, support construction administration activities, perform site visits, and help resolve technical issues during construction. The role also includes mentoring early-career engineers, contributing to quality control reviews, and helping to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions that meet client needs and applicable codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, including applied Electricity principles and building systems.

• Demonstrated expertise in Electrical Design for commercial, institutional, or historic renovation projects.
• \n
• Experience with Power Distribution systems, including panelboard layouts, circuit sizing, and equipment selection.
• \n
• Knowledge of Power Systems analysis, including short-circuit calculations, coordination, and load modeling.
• \n
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline; PE license or eligibility strongly preferred.

• Proficiency with relevant design and modeling software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical calculation tools).
• \n
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, energy codes, and other applicable standards and guidelines.
• \n
• Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
