To learn more about Pearce visit TitleExperienced Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Field Engineer)LocationRichmond, Virginia and surrounding areas.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall electrical equipment such as small rack‑mounted UPS equipment, various‑sized batteries, and UPS/Battery monitoring equipment.Maintain battery cabinets and racks, maintenance bypass, battery monitoring equipment, DC systems, and other electrical equipment.Perform periodic and lifecycle‑driven remedial services, including failure analysis and troubleshooting, component replacements and repairs, and battery string replacements and installations.Build customer relationships – provide excellent customer service and upsell products.Troubleshoot field calls from customers to satisfactory resolution.Respond quickly to critical situations.Teach and mentor crew members on proper techniques for site work, troubleshooting, repair, and analyzing site data.Isolate basic hardware, software, and interface malfunctions using various test equipment on multiple products and technologies.Other duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.Core ExperiencePrior military training in electronics or avionics (A School, AIT, etc.) preferred.Minimum of three (3) years serving in a third‑party critical power field service or technical support role with demonstrated progression in technical proficiency and capability, ORMinimum of five (5) years serving in an OEM service environment in the critical power space.Good understanding of AC/DC electrical principles.Knowledge of test equipment operation, such as multimeters and battery test equipment.Ability to read and interpret electronics schematics and troubleshoot failures/faults to the component level.Experience enforcing compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations and standards.Outstanding work ethic, punctuality, trustworthiness, and reliability – the pace as a senior UPS/Critical Power Engineer.Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions within fast‑paced changing priorities.Physical/Work EnvironmentSafety is the top concern; candidates must comply with OSHA and applicable DOT standards.Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (if operating a company vehicle) and pass a pre‑employment drug screen.Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds for short durations.Ability to kneel or crouch periodically.Ability to stand for extended periods of time.Ability to travel for multiple days with Per Diem as projects require.Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining 100% safety awareness.Ability to lift heavy objects and stretch above head level.CompensationBase Pay Range: $35 USD – $45 USD.
