About the Role
Eze Paws is a busy dog grooming shop in Whitestone, Queens. We have a strong team of groomers — what we need now is a skilled bather who takes real pride in the work that makes a great groom possible.
This is not an entry-level "hose the dog down" job. We're looking for someone who already knows their way around a tub, a high-velocity dryer, and a wiggly 90-pound doodle — and who's happy to jump on the phone or grab a mop when the shop needs it. If that's you, you'll be busy, appreciated, and paid on every pet you touch.
What You'll Do
In the tub (the core of the job):
- Bathe dogs of all sizes, coats, and temperaments
- Blow-dry and brush out to a fluffy, tangle-free finish
- Deshedding treatments
- Nail clipping and filing
- Ear cleaning
- Anal gland expression
- Prep dogs so our groomers can start their cut immediately
Around the shop (everyone pitches in):
- Answer the phone and greet clients at the front desk
- Help check pets in and out
- Keep the shop spotless — clean tubs between dogs, laundry, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting
Big Pluses
- Cat experience — if you can bathe cats, or even just trim cat nails calmly and safely, tell us right away. We groom cats and this skill is genuinely valuable to us.
- Retail or customer-facing experience — you'll talk to pet parents every day, so comfort behind a counter and on the phone goes a long way.
- Bilingual English/Spanish, English/Korean, or English/Mandarin — Whitestone is wonderfully diverse and we want to serve every family.
Compensation
- $17.00/hour base — every hour, every shift.
- Plus one-third of the tip on every pet you bathe, paid on top of your hourly. The busier you are, the more you make — a full day of baths adds up fast.
- Paid via W2 payroll with real pay stubs.
Real W2, Real Benefits — Not 1099
Many NYC grooming shops pay 1099. We pay W2, which means:

Requirements
- Professional bathing experience at a grooming salon, vet clinic, daycare, or mobile groomer (1+ year preferred)
- Confident and safe with nail trims, ear cleaning, and gland expression — not just baths
- Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments, including nervous or squirmy ones
- Willing to answer phones, work the front desk, and help keep the shop clean — this is a team shop, not a back-room-only role
- Able to stand for long shifts, lift up to ~50 lbs, and not mind getting wet and covered in fur
- Reliable and punctual — our groomers' schedules depend on your prep work
- Weekend availability required (Saturday is our biggest day)
- Authorized to work in the US
- English required; Spanish, Korean, or Mandarin a plus
