POSITION: Experienced Hay Farm/Livestock Worker. REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 6 months experience as a livestock worker. Must ride a horse safely. Must have Driver's requirements. Must be able to maintain and repair fencing. Must be at least 18 years of age for child labor law reasons. Must be able to lift 80 pounds. Must provide 1 employer reference who will speak specifically to the applicant's skills in the husbandry of sheep. If ranch worker experience is older than 12 months the 2 employer references may be required. Applicant must agree to all specifications in the attachment printout provided by workforce center staff prior to applying. JOB DESCRIPTION: Attend livestock grazing on the range or on pasture. Herds flock to new grass and rounds up strays using dogs/fence. Makes sure animals have access to fresh water. Beds down flock near evening camp site. Guards flock from predatory animals and from eating poisonous/noxious plants. Drench animals. May repair and maintain fence. May examine livestock for signs of illness and administers vaccines, medications and insecticides. May assist with lambing and shearing. May perform other ranch chores related to the production and husbandry of livestock. May attend livestock in barns during lambing season. May brand, tag or clip identifying notches for identification purposes. May sort and cut culls. May feed supplementary rations. Will ride horses in a manner that is safe for the worker, co-worker and livestock. Will perform tasks to standard with limited supervision. Worker will live singly or in small groups in isolation for long periods of time. Worker will be around farm machinery. Employee will work out of doors in all types of weather. Employee will be exposed to poisonous snakes and predatory animals occasionally. The worker will drive and lift 80 pounds often. SCHEDULE: Monday to Saturday 8am to 5PM - 48 hours per week ANTICIPATED PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: 4/20/2025 - 11/30/2025. APPLICATION DEADLINE: 7/09/2025 JOB LOCATION: Near Parshall, CO area. PAY: $17.84 per hour. Effective 1/1/25, overtime must be paid after 48 hours worked per week, or 56 hours worked per week for up to 22 "peak weeks" for highly seasonal employers."
