Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer - Metallic CastingsLocation: US-WA-RichlandJob ID: 2026-3175Category: Design and EngineeringPosition Type: Full-TimeLocation Type: OnsiteSalary Range: $110,000 - $121,000 per yearResponsibilitiesDesign, improve, and develop complex metallic cast components from concept through production.Apply engineering analysis and sound design principles to improve performance, manufacturability, and reliability.Work closely with external foundry suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and cross‑functional on‑site engineering teams to bring designs to life.Own design control activities including drawings, specifications, engineering changes, and technical documentation.Investigate manufacturing and field issues, identify root causes, and develop robust engineering solutions.Ensure designs comply with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.Drive continuous improvement in both product design and engineering processes.Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical leadership on key projects.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering (degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology, or Engineering Science also acceptable).Minimum of 3 years of related experience.Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques, and criteria.Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.Strong problem‑identification and problem‑resolution skills.Displays informal leadership characteristics.Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self‑checking.Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role.Experience with metallic cast components (investment castings preferred).Expertise in mechanical component design and detailed engineering drawing review.Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).Experience working with foundries or casting suppliers.Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).Product development from concept through production.Root cause analysis and resolving manufacturing or quality issues.BenefitsSalary: $110,000 – $121,000, with potential annual incentives and performance bonuses.Health & Wellness: Multiple medical plan options, dental & vision coverage, life insurance, long‑ and short‑term disability, optional supplemental plans (critical illness, accident, hospital indemnity, dependent life).Retirement: 401(k) with employer match.Paid Time Off: Up to 3 weeks of vacation, 8 sick days, and 13 paid holidays annually.Extra Perks: Lifestyle spending account, employer‑paid mental health support, education reimbursement, professional development opportunities, adoption assistance, parental leave, and employee assistance programs.Framatome is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.#J-18808-Ljbffr
