Find your future with us.We're hiring an Experienced Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to join the Integrated Design Engineering (IDE) Team in Huntsville, Alabama on the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Mechanical Engineering Capability Team.Position Responsibilities:Develops and documents mechanical engineering designs and analysis, including technical data packages, test plans, post-test reports, process specifications, and work instructionsDevelops cost reduction proposals, calculates return on investment, develops project requirements and schedules, and implements them into productionPerforms and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specificationsSupports ongoing production activities and provides real-time support as non-conformances ariseSupports engineering release processes to include program Configuration Control Board(s)Contributes to supplier development, test, production, and troubleshooting activitiesProvides leadership, coaching, and technical oversight to other mechanical engineersSupports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems and thermal environment to establish the system designLeads activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirementsLeads the development, maintenance or modification of system components' designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentationPerforms and documents analysesManages supplier development, test and production activities and directs supplier(s) to optimize integration and achieve program goals; prioritizes, delegates and tracks performance and documentation of analyses of mechanisms, components and mechanical systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the designSupports proposal preparation and new business development effortsDirects the development and documentation of large‑scale, complex mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system designDevelops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effortInvestigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirementsServes as technical consultant for disposition, corrective actions and coordination with cross‑functional groups to identify/implement solutions and drive strategic improvements relative to production processesCoaches and mentors othersWorks under consultative directionSecurity ClearanceThis position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
