About the Role:
Open Eyes Vision Center in Arlington, TX is looking for an experienced Optometric Medical Assistant to join our team on a 30-day contract basis to provide clinic support during the back to school timeframe. This is a great opportunity to bring your skills to a dynamic, patient-focused eye care practice and make an immediate impact. This contract position is scheduled to end August 15, with the potential for a long-term opportunity. The  bonus up to $1000 will be paid at the end of the contract period in accordance with other terms including attendance and customer service requirements. Send us a message for more information!



Responsibilities:
  • Perform preliminary patient workups including visual acuity testing, tonometry, and case history intake
  • Assist optometrists during comprehensive eye exams and specialty procedures
  • Operate and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic equipment such as autorefractors, slit lamps, and visual field analyzers
  • Accurately document patient information and clinical data in the EHR/EMR system
Requirements:
  • Minimum 6 months of hands-on experience as an Optometric or Ophthalmic Medical Assistant
  • Proficiency with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and preliminary testing procedures
  • Experience with EHR/EMR systems; optometry-specific software experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of optometric terminology, procedures, and patient care protocols
  • Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered, compassionate demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a contract/temporary setting
  • Additional bonus for Crystal PM proficiency
