Experienced Mill Helper - DIRECT HIRE

This role involves supporting the machine operator with setup, teardown, and operation of production equipment. You’ll work with a dedicated team on a fast-paced manufacturing floor, helping ensure our products meet the highest standards. Hours
1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)

Pay
$23.25/hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist operator in loading coils onto pay-off reel
  • Operate jib cranes
  • Set up and tear down the exit end racking
  • Help stack finished goods into proper packaging
  • Clean and paint equipment
  • Keep the work area organized and safe
  • Band/wrap finished goods according to packaging specs
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision

Minimum Requirements
  • Experience in a manufacturing or mill environment
  • Safety-conscious, team-oriented, responsible, and proactive
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Ability to read measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometers)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, understand manufacturing orders, quality check sheets, and part drawings
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience operating jib cranes
  • Knowledge of banding and wrapping techniques
  • Familiarity with measurement tools like calipers and micrometers

Preferred Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior manufacturing or mill experience preferred

Other Requirements
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift 75 lbs repeatedly
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift
  • On-site work environment
