Our Industrial Center of Excellence (ICoE) team continues to grow, and we are seeking a talented Lead Architect to join our award‑winning practice supporting Federal, Industrial/Food, and Generation facilities.

Our team delivers functional, high‑performance buildings with controlled environments, guided by responsible design practices and the principles of sustainability, LEED, and LEAN methodologies. Collaboration is central to our approach, with Building Information Modeling (BIM) serving as a key tool to communicate integrated 3D designs across project teams, owners, and construction partners. We pride ourselves on fostering long‑term client relationships while providing meaningful opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.

This position is ideal for a motivated architectural professional who is actively pursuing architectural licensure, progressing through the ARE examination process, and ready to take ownership of small projects while receiving mentorship from senior architects and project managers

Your Impact

The successful candidate will support the planning, design, and delivery of industrial, manufacturing, federal, and commercial projects while developing increasing levels of technical and project management responsibility. Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage small projects or discrete project components with guidance and oversight from senior architects and project managers.
• Assist in the preparation of architectural drawings, specifications, reports, and other project deliverables.
• Support design development, construction document production, and coordination across multiple disciplines.
• Participate in project meetings, client interactions, workshops, and consultant coordination efforts.
• Perform building code analysis, life safety reviews, and accessibility evaluations under supervisory review.
• Assist with quality control reviews and document coordination throughout all project phases.
• Utilize Revit and other design technologies to develop and maintain project documentation.
• Support proposal development, project pursuits, and business development activities as needed.
• Contribute to maintaining project schedules, budgets, and overall project objectives.
• Continue professional development toward architectural licensure and expanded project leadership responsibilities.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• 4-12 years of professional experience in an architectural or multidisciplinary A/E environment.
• Actively pursuing architectural registration and currently progressing through the ARE examination process.
• Demonstrated experience using Revit in a professional setting.
• Experience supporting or independently leading small projects through various phases of design and construction.
• Working knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, and life safety principles.
• Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary design teams.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Architectural registration or progress toward licensure with several ARE divisions completed.
• Experience with industrial, manufacturing, advanced technology, research, federal, or mission-critical facilities.
• Experience with tenant improvements, renovations, additions, and new construction projects.
• Familiarity with design-build and design-bid-build project delivery methods.
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices; LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred.
• Experience using Navisworks, Bluebeam, or comparable project coordination software.
• Ability to independently manage small projects, coordinate consultants, and serve as a client point of contact with support from senior staff.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $88,500 - $141,700

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
