Experienced Retail Security Officer - High-Profile Luxury Retail

Location: New York, NY

Pay: $18-$19 Per Hour based on experience

Schedule: Rotating shifts between 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM

Weekend availability is required.

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced, confident Security Officer to protect a high-end luxury retail location. This position requires a strong professional security presence while maintaining the professionalism and discretion expected in a luxury environment.

The ideal candidate has a background in military service, executive/private security, nightclub/event security, or high-volume retail asset protection. This is not a customer service-only security role-we are looking for someone with excellent situational awareness, strong de-escalation skills, and the ability to confidently manage challenging individuals and high-pressure situations while representing the brand with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong, visible security presence to deter theft, disorderly conduct, and other security threats.
• Monitor the sales floor and surrounding areas for suspicious activity and respond promptly to incidents or emergencies.
• Manage crowd control, access control, and disruptive behavior while utilizing effective de-escalation techniques.
• Support store opening and closing procedures, alarm response, secure deliveries, and employee escorts.
• Communicate clearly with store leadership, fellow security personnel, law enforcement, and emergency responders using two-way radio communications.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
• Help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment consistent with luxury retail standards.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Minimum of 5 years of security experience, preferably in luxury retail, retail asset protection, private security, executive protection, military, law enforcement, or venue/event security.
• Demonstrated experience with crowd control, conflict resolution, and de-escalation.
• Ability to remain calm, exercise sound judgment, and maintain professionalism in high-pressure or confrontational situations.
• Excellent observation, communication, and report-writing skills.
• Comfortable operating two-way radio communications.
• Professional appearance and flexible availability, including weekends.
