Equipment Sales Representative

Equipment Sales Representative
CMI is looking for an experienced Equipment Sales Representative to join our sales team.
This position represents a unique opportunity to step into a well-established sales territory following the departure of a salesperson who has served CMI and our customers for more than 30 years. Over that time, strong customer relationships, extensive industry knowledge, and a significant book of business have been developed throughout the territory.
With that level of experience leaving the position, we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running. This is not an entry-level sales role. The successful candidate should already understand heavy equipment sales, territory management, customer relationship development, and the construction equipment industry.
The right person will have the experience and confidence to take ownership of an established territory, build relationships with long-standing CMI customers, develop new business, and continue growing the foundation that has been built over the past three decades.

What Success Looks Like
Success in this position requires more than taking orders. The Equipment Sales Representative is expected to be actively involved with customers, understand what is happening within the territory, identify opportunities before they become purchase orders, and consistently develop new business.
The right person will be comfortable getting out of the office, visiting customers and jobsites, asking for business, following up on opportunities, and building the kind of long-term relationships that lead to repeat equipment sales.
This position requires someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of an established territory, and build on the customer relationships and reputation CMI has developed over many years.
Work Environment
This position includes a combination of office work, customer visits, jobsites, equipment yards, shops, industry events, and travel throughout the assigned territory.
The employee will regularly work around active construction and heavy equipment and may travel to remote customer locations. The position requires flexibility and the ability to work independently while remaining closely connected with CMI’s sales, rental, parts, and service teams.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The position may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, climbing, and entering or exiting equipment.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move items weighing more than 50 pounds as needed. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
