Experienced Shipping Associate

We are seeking a dependable and safety-minded Shipping Associate for our client in Youngstown, OH. This opportunity is perfect for someone with a strong work ethic and a focus on safety.

Our client specializes in producing steel fabrications and counterweights. In this role, you'll be an essential part of their team, handling material lifting, stacking, and moving pallets throughout the facility. You will also be responsible for inventory management, shipping, and receiving operations. Hours:
01/21/2024, 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM, Monday through Sunday (shift flexibility required)

Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00/hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate forklift safely
  • Observe all safety regulations and keep work area clean
  • Monitor traffic of co-workers and moving cranes within the shop
  • Move raw materials such as steel plates, cut parts, and other materials
  • Pick, pack, and band parts for shipping
  • Manage inventory in and out of the facility
  • Follow all safety protocols and stay aware of surroundings

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License
  • Strong math skills and hand-eye coordination
  • Reliable, dependable, and eager to learn company processes
  • Able to follow detailed instructions from supervision

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Forklift experience
  • Shipping, receiving, picking, or packing experience

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Experience in industrial shipping and logistics is a plus

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical labor during shift
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Capable of safely climbing in and out of forklifts
  • Tolerance for working in varying temperatures
  • Respond quickly to sounds and hazards
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment at all times
