The job entails the setup, assembly, and welding of metal alloys in specific orientations to a specified standard and drawing. The position also requires skills in MIG, TIG, and brazing processes.
? Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, copper, and nickel
alloys
? Perform Mig (GMAW), brazing, soldering, and other weld processes as needed
? Weld components including pipe, tube, plate, flanges, manifolds, and assemblies to specified tolerances
? Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions
? Set up welding equipment, select proper filler metals, and adjust parameters for material and joint requirements
? Maintain weld quality to meet internal specifications, ASME, AWS, or customer requirements
? Conduct visual inspection of completed welds and correct defects as required
? Use measuring tools to verify fit-up and dimensional accuracy
? Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and safe handling of materials and equipment
? Maintain a clean and organized work area
? Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and quality personnel to resolve welding or fit-up issues
Requirements:
**Welder/Fabricator with at least 1 year experience in TIG** A high school diploma, with welder training from a recognized welding school
Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs. plus stand for extended periods
Be able to read basic drawings.
Have the ability to perform advanced calculations using shop Math.
Read and comprehend standard operating procedures and be willing to learn.
Able to accurately use a tape measure, calipers, micrometers, height gages, and other metal measuring equipment.
Have a Mechanical aptitude.
Problem Solving/Analysis.
Drawing comprehension.
Results Driven.
Communication Proficiency.
Capability to pass ASME 6G weld certification.
